When "specialty" Lenses are not necessary!
At Sudbury Specialty Contact lenses, we pride ourselves on being Northern Ontario's only contact lens only clinic!
Though specialty rigid lenses like scleral and ortho-k lenses are our specialty, we do not discriminate against those who require much simpler vision correction. In fact, we love fitting new and previous wearers with the most modern soft contact lenses whenever appropriate.
Lenses for all vision types
After more than 15 years of fitting both soft and rigid contact lenses, we have found that many patients have either had limited success with contact lenses, or have been told by their eyecare professional that contact lenses are not a good option for them. Though this may be the case for some, we have found that many patients have been mislead in believing they cannot be successful contact lens wearers.
Unfortunately, some practitioners prefer to not fit contact lenses to certain patients due to the amount of time and effort it may take to achieve a successful fitting. This unnecessarily leaves the patient with limited options for correcting their vision and causes them to potentially miss out on the freedom and comfort of contact lenses. Fortunately, at Sudbury Specialty Contact Lenses, we are willing to provide all patients with a free consultation and assessment to determine which type of contact lenses may be a viable option.
Regardless of your prescription, we are committed to finding an option that works for you! This includes patients with:
High Prescriptions
Whether it be high levels of Myopia (nearsightedness) or Hyperopia (farsightedness), we are committed to finding an effective option.
Astigmatism
Having astigmatism is no longer a contra-indication to contact lens wear. There are a number of soft lens options (toric lenses) designed to give you the vision and comfort you deserve!
Presbyopia
Many patients who require multifocal eyeglasses (bifocal, trifocal, or progressive) do not realize that contact lenses are also available in multifocal options. In fact, in many cases patients find that they can get better function and comfort from multifocal contact lenses than their eyeglasses.
The great news is that regardless of outcome, we specialize in finding a contact lens that works! Most patients who have healthy eyes will likely have success with soft lenses, but if your prescription or eye health limits you, a specialty lens will almost certainly be an option.
Barring extremely unique circumstances, nearly all patients can be candidates for contact lenses; assuming they comply with safety directions and precautions.
