Northern Ontario's Specialty Contact Lens Clinic
Northern Optics is Northern Ontario's only clinic dedicated to highly specialized contact lenses designed to manage corneal disease and moderate to severe refractive error.

We are the only clinic that specializes in the management of Keratoconus and other corneal diseases through the expert fitting of scleral contact lenses. Our patients experience the highest quality of vision and comfort in their lives all the while maintaining optimal ocular health. Many of our patients who have been told they couldn't wear contact lenses by other eyecare professionals are now living their best lives with specialty contact lenses.
We also specialize in non-surgical correction of myopia (nearsightedness) as well as myopia control in children with modern Ortho-Keratology.
This safe and effective techniques allows patients to wear contact lenses at night while they sleep to effectively shape the cornea; resulting in day-long 20/20 vision without any eyeglasses or contact lenses. Not only is Ortho-Keratology convenient, it also reduced most patients contact lens wear time by half as compared to wearing disposable lenses up to 16 hours per day.
At Northern Optiocs we are committed to patient satisfaction while prioritizing ocular performance and health.
What sets us apart
Specialty Contact Lens Solutions
Our products are designed and professionally fitted to provide our patients with optimal visual performance while maintaining ocular health. Depending on your prescription and/or ocular conditions, they will recommend the most appropriate solutions. These may include:

Scleral Lenses
Modern Scleral lenses provide unprecidented visual performance and comfort for patients suffering from corneal diseases such as Keratoconus, corneal surface disease, or chronically dry eye(s).
They are also a great option for patients who have not been able to have success with soft contact lenses due to prescription or comfort.
Virtually any patient can be eyeglass-free with the help of scleral contact lenses.

Ortho-K
Ortho-K is a revolutionary non-surgical method of correcting myopia (nearsightedness) and mild astigmatism without eyeglasses.
The unique concept of Ortho-K is that you wear contact lenses while you sleep rather than all day. The lenses effectively re-shape the cornea to correct you vision; leaving you with 20/20 vision when you remove them in the morning.
This is a great option for patients who cannot get a full day of comfort with soft daily lenses and who are not comfortable with surgical corrections such a Lasik.

Myopia Control
There is a growing concern worldwide regarding increasing levels of myopia (nearsightedness) in school aged children and adolescents.
It has become a mandate in North America and the rest of the world to treat myopic children as early as possible in an effort to stunt the progression of this condition.
By leveraging the convenience and effectiveness of Ortho-K technology, we can effectively control your child's myopia while they sleep.
This option reduces contact lens wear time by up to 50% and allows parents to more effectively monitor their children's contact lens habits at home.
